Luma A.I. Dream machine
( Dutch on my substack – please subscribe!)
As I wrote on Twitter: there are essentially three flavors of right-wing politics in the Netherlands today:
Mossad-right (PVV) – Banker-right (VVD) – Feudal-right (FVD, one could also call it ‘Mealboxright’ perhaps but the essence of their political views is feudalism)
With D66 taking the position that would have been called ‘classical liberal’ in the past. Mossad-right has won by a significant margin, which is not surprising when politicians interact with intelligence services.
It was always expected that intelligence services and democracy would eventually merge, with the intelligence services steering ‘democracy.’ After all, those who have the power to declare their own actions secret for 50 years can easily replace their own leaders. Only in 50 years will you hear about it, thanks to the rocket scientists who devised these regulations in the past. Or not, because by that time there will be no obligation to tell you anything at all.
Alright, let’s talk about art instead.
I am currently translating the book ‘What the Piranha Dreams About in the Lemonade Ditch’ into English, and I am using this momentum to improve the book simultaneously. I want to write a few new essays and replace some content that was only interesting to Dutch readers. By making the book even stronger, I hope to break through internationally, as the clique in the Netherlands is determined to censor me indefinitely. My last five books were not reviewed, and that’s not because they weren’t sent out.
I made this image with Leonardo AI – an old man with a tuba, with a robot vacuum cleaner on the floor. I like works that have that kind of contrast. I ran the image through an AI video program called Luma and it did quite a decent job. I haven’t seen programs yet that can make a man stand up like that, with even the pillows moving. Promising, though Luma is slow as syrup today due to high demand. But I look forward to making my own clips. I think it will be possible in a year, opening the door to total artistry like never before.
Reggae with a tuba, that’s something that hasn’t really existed yet. So I find it a fun challenge to make a reggae record where the tuba plays a central role. I use AI for this, but I also play along with the AI, creating a fusion that results in a highly original music genre.
In this track, I play five tracks/instruments myself.
I aim to deliver the first two records by the end of this month: the debut album of Berry Lee Berry and the debut album of De Hertenklanken.
In a later phase, when Sora starts to function a bit, I can also make music videos for the songs, although I heard that music videos are already becoming passé: people’s attention spans are so poor that even music videos are falling out of favor.
