Dopamine: The Disconnect of De-Doping

Posted on August 21, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders # Dopamine / De Doping Allen Dulles, the future head of the CIA, had conversations with Joseph Goebbels back in 1935, openly expressing his admiration for Goebbels. Even a letter declassified in 2003 shows that Dulles spoke very positively about Goebbels at least until…

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders ## Censorship Baked into Your Software I am a paying user of Adobe, which costs me 67 euros per month. But I regularly get warnings that I am creating content that “violates the content policy,” such as the image I was working on last…

The Necessity of Megalomania

Posted on August 19, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this dutch article of Martijn Benders *** You Must Have Delusions of Grandeur First and foremost, it’s remarkable how the mechanisms of power and exclusion operate within the literary world. The same figures who ignore one book after another in the media then take a position at the Dutch Foundation…

The Delusions of Grandeur Speak

Posted on August 18, 2024August 18, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders. What came before: With the help of Bossche bollen, I successfully created a Temporary Autonomous Zone in the objections committee of the Dutch Foundation for Literature. I received a letter from Richard Jackson that was sent just in time after waiting around 10 weeks,…

The Temporarily Autonomous Zone

Posted on August 17, 2024August 17, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this dutch article of Martijn Benders The Temporarily Autonomous Zone I immersed myself in the paradox of the literary administrative landscape, a world where the chance of just 0.7% is not only a statistical anomaly but almost a mythological manifestation of bureaucracy. Imagine: four times in a row, an administrator…

“Daniel Hopfer and His St. Jerome: An Artistic Exploration”

Posted on August 16, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders Daniel Hopfer and His St Jerome Three days and nights in a scorching hot Venice: normally, I wouldn’t even consider it, but a promise is a promise. Even at ten o’clock in the evening, it was still thirty degrees, and in that steaming water…

“A Barbarian in a Heatwave”

Posted on August 14, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this dutch article of Martijn Benders Barbaar in een hittegolf Currently, Italy is experiencing one of the worst heatwaves in history. I’m typing this in Venice, after the second sweltering night where it didn’t cool down below 25 degrees. Still, I have no regrets about coming here—I’m doing it, of…

The Masters of Linguistic Prowess

Posted on August 11, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders Sometimes, you come across people eager to demonstrate their superior linguistic knowledge. The Castlefest of the Free Professions

Posted on August 10, 2024August 10, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martijn Benders The Castlefest of Independent Professions There seems to be a strange kind of misunderstanding about so-called “independent professions.” The titles “attorney” and “legal advisor” are not protected: in the Netherlands at least you don’t need to have undergone any training to call yourself a…

This article is based on this dutch article of Martijn Benders Soon, I will set off for Pinocchio Island. Fianna Fáil: Soldiers of Fate as Swans

Posted on August 7, 2024 by admin

This article is based on this dutch article of Martijn Benders ### Fianna Fáil: The Soldiers of Destiny as Swans The cover of Ginneninne. It appears to be two holy swans, one pecking at the back of the other. But in reality, it’s “FF” turned upside down, symbolizing Fianna Fáil. The word “Fianna” refers to…

We’re talking about FinalSpark, a new company collaborating with…

Castles Get Kicked in the Bricks each Summer

Let’s face it: some backpacks just carry your stuff. This one tells your entire life philosophy in one ridiculous, multilingual joke. Imagine strolling into a museum, a bus stop, or your ex's new wedding—with a bag that declares, in ten languages, that castles are always the losers of summer.

Why? Because deep down, you know:

  • Tourists always win.
  • History has a sense of humor.
  • And you, my friend, are not carrying your lunch in just any nylon sack—you’re carrying it in a medieval meltdown on your shoulders.

This backpack says:

  • “I’ve been to four castles, hated three, and got kicked out of one for asking where the dragons were.”
  • “I appreciate heritage sites, but I also think they could use a bit more slapstick.”
  • “I’m cute, I’m moopish, and I will absolutely picnic on your parapet.”

It’s absurd.
It’s philosophical.
It holds snacks.

In short, it’s not just a backpack—it’s a mobile monument to glorious collapse.

And honestly? That’s what summer’s all about.

Philosophy thirts

Feeling surveilled? Alienated by modernity? Accidentally started explaining biopolitics at brunch again? Then it’s time to proudly declare your loyalties (and your exhaustion) with our iconic “I’m with Fuckold” shirt.

This tee is for those who’ve:

  • Said “power is everywhere” in a non-BDSM context.
  • Tried to explain Discipline and Punish to their cat.
  • Secretly suspect the panopticon is just their neighbour with binoculars.

Wearing this shirt is a cry of love, rebellion, and post-structural despair. It says:
“Yes, I’ve read Foucault. No, I will not be okay.”

Stay tuned for more philosophical shirts and backpacks, as we at Benders are working on an entire collection that will make even the ghost of Hegel raise an eyebrow.
