We just have to comply with that

This article is based on this Dutch article of Martinus Benders

We Just Have to Go Along With It

I made my own selection from Sriveer’s project Mantra Dance, mostly choosing tracks featuring Vajrayoginis because I think they are the best:

An angry Kroes showed up at my door. I had to stop ‘throwing my audience to the pigs’ and start seriously working on an album with good Americana music.

So I wrote this song, which in my view touches on a very contemporary issue. Young people are moving into those yurts, and we are just supposed to go along with it. Often these young folks don’t realize that once you’re a bit older, living like that wreaks havoc on your back.

Addressing contemporary issues like this is at the core of singer-songwriter craft. You have to be a ‘Genius of Mood’ for that, and that is exactly what Kroes and I are.

Ideas determine the direction.

Yesterday, I thought about how it can’t be a coincidence that WOKE and COKE rhyme — just screaming for a song to be made about it.

Kind regards,

Martinus Benders

Look, I’ve had enough of my English-speaking readers squinting at Google Translate like it’s some kind of dystopian ouija board. “Ah yes, ‘the cheese of my soul is melting’—deep.” No more. I’m finally doing proper translations, and because I believe in efficiency (and chaos), I’ve dumped them all in one place: a Substack called Cuck the Fanon. which is also available as a Shirt:
