The second full-length album rolling out from my pen.
After Berry Lee Berry, now comes The Stoss. I genuinely put a great deal of effort into it, and it’s one of the most literary albums ever released in the German language – not least because both Ritsos and Van der Holst are featured as lyricists, truly covering vast distances.
(Even the Oben Ohne track is far better than that unimaginative house number usually associated with this banner. And Sido Mertens in Oben Ohne mode in a limousine – who wouldn’t want that? He himself let it be known that he finds this album AMAZING.)
There are also lyricists who don’t cover any ground (commonly, and often arrogantly, referred to as “poets”) and, of course, the musicians who orbit around them. Such figures we’d rather leave out.
Yes, I genuinely know people who have never covered any ground but still call themselves writers or poets.
